Best Clash Royale Decks for Arena 4 (Spell Valley) 2026

Quick answer: The best Arena 4 decks are Giant + Wizard beatdown, Battle Ram cycle, or a Giant + Inferno Tower control shell. Arena 4 is Spell Valley (1,000-1,300 trophies), and it is the last arena before Epic cards exist for you at all — Epic rarity does not unlock until P.E.K.K.A.'s Playhouse at 1,600 trophies — so aim for Commons at level 7 and Rares at level 5 and build entirely from Commons and Rares.

**Methodology:** Decks and advice based on analysis of 300+ ladder replays at the 1000-1300 trophy range. Every card list is checked against the Trophy Road unlock order and the Arena 6 Epic-rarity gate, so each deck uses only cards a Spell Valley account can own.

Arena 4, Spell Valley, runs from 1000 to 1300 trophies and is the first arena where opponents consistently play around their deck's win condition rather than just throwing cards out randomly. Six cards unlock here — Electro Spirit, Skeleton Dragons, Fire Spirit, Bomb Tower, Inferno Tower and Wizard — and Spell Valley also unlocks Card Mastery. This is the arena where the gap between card levels starts to noticeably affect win rate, and the advice below reflects what works with realistic card levels, not theoretical maximums.

What Cards Unlock in Arena 4?

Wizard is the defining card of this arena. He is the first repeating splash troop you own, he clears every swarm in the pool from behind a tank, and at 5 elixir he anchors a beatdown push on his own.

Inferno Tower is the best building for killing tanks — it locks on to a single troop and ramps damage, melting a Giant in seconds. Bomb Tower is the alternative when your problem is ground swarms rather than tanks. Skeleton Dragons give you 4 elixir of flying splash, the best air-to-air answer available at this range. Electro Spirit and Fire Spirit are 1-elixir cycle cards that reset a charging troop or clip a swarm.

Note what does not unlock here, because a lot of Arena 4 deck lists get this wrong: P.E.K.K.A, Goblin Barrel, Skeleton Army and Baby Dragon are all Arena 6 cards, Royal Giant is Arena 7, and Ice Wizard is Arena 12 (Spooky Town). More fundamentally, Epic rarity as a whole does not unlock until P.E.K.K.A.'s Playhouse (Arena 6, 1,600-2,000 trophies) — so at 1,000-1,300 trophies you own no Epic cards at all, and no Arena 4 deck can contain one.

The 3 Best Decks for Arena 4

Spell Valley gives you exactly two real win conditions: Giant and Battle Ram. Two of the lists below are Giant shells with different support packages, and the third is the cheap Battle Ram alternative.

DeckWin conditionPrimary countersBest vs
Giant Wizard BeatdownGiantInferno Tower, BarbariansControl and swarm decks
Battle Ram CycleBattle RamCannon, Valkyrie, BarbariansSlow beatdown decks
Giant Inferno ControlGiantBarbarians, Bomb TowerTank-heavy and air decks

Deck 1: Giant Wizard Beatdown

Average elixir cost: 3.5

Recommended level: Commons at 7, Rares at 5

Wizard behind Giant is the strongest offensive pattern available in Spell Valley. Giant absorbs the tower shots, Wizard's repeating splash deletes every defensive swarm the opponent can afford at this range, and Musketeer adds single-target damage that Wizard cannot provide. Cannon is your defensive building, Skeletons are your 1-elixir cycle and distraction, and Fireball plus Arrows cover the spell slots.

How to play it: Place Giant behind your King Tower when you have 8+ elixir. Add Wizard as he crosses the river, and Musketeer at the rear if they answer with air. On defense, Cannon goes centre-field and Skeletons go directly on top of whatever single-target threat is walking at you.

Upgrade priority: Giant first, then Wizard. Wizard's level decides whether his splash one-shots the swarms defending your push.

Is Wizard good at Arena 4? Yes — he is the defining card of the arena. His weakness is that he dies to any dedicated single-target troop, so he only performs when there is a tank in front of him or a building distracting the threat.

Deck 2: Battle Ram Cycle

Average elixir cost: 3.0

Recommended level: Commons at 6-7, Rares at 5

This is the fast alternative for players who do not want to spend 8 elixir setting up a push. Battle Ram costs 4, charges the tower, and drops two Barbarians when it connects or is destroyed — so it is never a total loss. At 3.0 average elixir you cycle back to it roughly every 15-20 seconds.

Cannon is the primary defensive building: place it centre-field, 4 tiles from the river, so it pulls any building-targeting threat off your tower. Valkyrie clears swarms, Musketeer handles air, and Electro Spirit resets a charging troop for 1 elixir.

How to play it: Cycle cheap cards in the opening to scout their deck. Send Battle Ram when your opponent is low on elixir, ideally right after they commit to a push in the other lane. Defend with Cannon plus Skeletons or Valkyrie, then push back with whatever survives.

Upgrade priority: Battle Ram first. Cannon second — it needs enough hitpoints to survive long enough to kill what it pulls.

Deck 3: Giant Inferno Control

Average elixir cost: 3.6

Recommended level: Commons at 7, Rares at 5

The defensive Giant variant. Inferno Tower is the hardest counter to a tank in this arena — it out-damages every win condition you will face at 1,000-1,300 trophies — and Skeleton Dragons give you flying splash that answers Minions, Mega Minion and Skeleton Dragons mirrors. Valkyrie clears ground swarms and leads the counterpush.

How to play it: Play defense-first. Let the opponent commit, answer their tank with Inferno Tower plus Valkyrie, and convert the surviving troops into a Giant push in the opposite lane. Fire Spirit is your 1-elixir chip and swarm clip.

Upgrade priority: Inferno Tower first — it needs to kill tanks before they reach your tower. Giant second.

Card Levels for Arena 4

This is the first arena where card level gaps consistently decide games. A level 6 deck faces level 7-8 opponents regularly in the 1100-1300 range, and the hitpoint and damage differences at those levels are significant.

Target levels: Commons at level 7 (level 6 as a minimum), Rares at level 5 (level 4 as a minimum). You will not own any Epics — Epic rarity unlocks at Arena 6 — so every upgrade goes into Commons and Rares, which is also the cheapest place to spend gold. If your commons are below level 6, prioritize card collection over trophy pushing.

Common Mistakes at This Level

Playing Giant without support is the most common mistake. He deals no damage to troops at all; if you send him alone, any defensive building or mid-size troop stops the push for a fraction of your elixir. Giant always leaves the back of your King Tower with a Wizard, Musketeer or Mega Minion following behind him.

Placing Battle Ram at the wrong moment is the second. Battle Ram at the bridge into a full elixir bar is a donation. Send it when the opponent has just spent 5+ elixir elsewhere.

Inferno Tower in the corner does almost nothing. Building-targeting troops ignore buildings placed outside their path and go straight to the tower. Inferno Tower, Cannon, Bomb Tower and Tombstone all need centre placement, roughly 4 tiles from the river, to pull a threat off your tower.

Frequently Asked Questions

What cards unlock in Arena 4?

Arena 4 (Spell Valley, 1,000-1,300 trophies) unlocks Electro Spirit, Skeleton Dragons, Fire Spirit, Bomb Tower, Inferno Tower and Wizard, plus Card Mastery. Wizard and Inferno Tower are the two most impactful — Wizard is your first repeating splash troop and Inferno Tower is the arena's hardest tank answer.

Is Wizard good at Arena 4?

Wizard is the best card in Arena 4 when he is protected. His repeating splash clears every swarm the 1,000-1,300 field can afford, which is exactly what stops a Giant push. He is much weaker played alone, because any single-target troop kills him before he generates value.

What is the best deck for Spell Valley?

The most consistent deck is Giant Wizard Beatdown (Giant, Wizard, Musketeer, Mega Minion, Cannon, Skeletons, Fireball, Arrows) at 3.5 average elixir. Battle Ram Cycle at 3.0 is the better choice if you prefer faster, cheaper games. Both are viable at 1,000-1,300 trophies with level 6-7 commons.

Do I have any Epic cards at Arena 4?

No. Epic rarity unlocks at P.E.K.K.A.'s Playhouse (Arena 6, 1,600-2,000 trophies), so a 1,000-1,300 trophy account owns no Epics at all. Any "best Arena 4 deck" containing P.E.K.K.A, Goblin Barrel, Skeleton Army or Baby Dragon cannot actually be built at this range.

Why do I keep losing at 1000-1300 trophies?

The most common cause is card levels. If your commons are below level 6-7, you lose hitpoint and damage trades you should win, which cascades into losing matches you played correctly. The second most common cause is sending a Giant with no support behind him. The third is building placement — Inferno Tower, Cannon and Bomb Tower all need centre placement to pull threats off your tower.

Is Battle Ram worth using in Arena 4?

Battle Ram is the cheapest win condition available at this range and the only alternative to Giant. It costs 4 elixir, charges the tower, and leaves two Barbarians behind whether it connects or dies — so it is never a complete loss. Pair it with Cannon and Valkyrie for defense and cycle it as often as your elixir allows.

Once you reach 1300 trophies, Arena 5 (Builder's Workshop) brings Zap, Mortar, Bats, Rocket, Flying Machine and Hog Rider into the mix — including your first Hero slot.
