Evolution Card Tier List July 2026: Every Ladder-Relevant Evolution Ranked After the Season 85 Patch

Updated 2026-08-2924 min readclash royaleevolution tier list july 2026evolution cardsevo executioner nerfseason 85 balance changesroninmega knight evolutionwild shardsbest evolution clash royale 2026

Quick answer: The best evolution in Clash Royale in July 2026 is Knight Evolution — untouched by the July 6, 2026 Season 85 patch and S-tier in every archetype. Evo Executioner was the only Evolution changed in the entire patch: Close Quarters range cut from 3.5 to 2.5 tiles (-29%) and Close Quarters damage from 268 to 240 (-10%), which drops him out of top-tier contention without breaking his core kit. Knight + Skeletons remains the best 2-evo pair at 255/255, and Skeletons Evolution quietly gained value because the new 5-elixir Legendary Ronin parries only one melee hit every 3.5 seconds.

The July 6, 2026 Season 85 balance update changed 11 cards, and exactly one of them was an Evolution: Evo Executioner, whose Close Quarters range fell from 3.5 to 2.5 tiles (-29%) and whose Close Quarters damage fell from 268 to 240 (-10%). Every other Evolution in this list carries its May tier forward unchanged. The two forces actually reshaping evolution value in July 2026 are outside the Evolution category entirely: the new 5-elixir Legendary Ronin, whose Parry blocks one incoming melee hit every 3.5 seconds and reflects 2x damage — enough to beat the game's big single-hit melee troops, though not the fast low-damage ones, and not Bats or Phoenix, which the Parry cannot touch at all, and the free distribution of Mega Knight Evolution, which put the game's most-complained-about Evolution into a far larger share of mid-ladder decks than its tier alone would predict.

The companion Evolution Card Tier List & Calculator tool lets you filter this list by archetype and score any 2-evolution combo out of 255 points. This guide replaces the May 2026 evolution tier list for July ladder play. For the full patch — all 11 cards, not just the Evolution — see the July 2026 balance changes breakdown.

What Is the Best Evolution Card in July 2026?

Knight Evolution is the best evolution card in Clash Royale in July 2026. It costs 3 elixir, charges in 2 cycles, and gains a damage-absorbing shield plus a knockback dash on every evolved play. The July 6, 2026 patch did not touch Knight — for the third consecutive balance cycle, after April 26 and May 4 also left it alone.

Impact: small. Knight Evolution's position did not change in July because nothing in the patch reached it. The gap between Knight and the field widened slightly rather than dramatically: only Evo Executioner moved, and Executioner was never competing with Knight for the same deck slot. If you were running Knight Evolution on July 5, run it on July 27.

One genuine caution: Knight Evolution's knockback dash is a ground melee attack, so it feeds Ronin's Parry for 2x reflected damage. Knight has not lost value against the field, only in that one climbing matchup.

These are July tiers, as ranked on July 27, 2026. Eleven of these Evolutions were
changed by the August 3, 2026 patch and two of them moved tier — Valkyrie S→A, Mega
Knight B→C. The re-rank lives in the
August 2026 evolution tier list; this table is
kept as the pre-patch snapshot the August edition is measured against.

Tier is the ranking signal here, and it is an editorial judgment: archetype fit across the 4000-9000+ trophy bands, shard-investment ROI, and the July 6 patch deltas. This series previously carried a win-rate column of illustrative placeholder figures; it has been removed rather than refreshed, because no Evolution-level win-rate dataset was published for Season 85 and the per-evolution rates on public trackers (some above 95% at usage below 0.2%) are sample artifacts. A number we cannot measure is worse than no number.

Two rows are new in July. Executioner Evolution enters because the July 6 patch made it the only Evolution in the game with a live stat change, and a tier list that ranks Evolutions should rank the one that just moved. Mega Knight Evolution enters because its free distribution changed how often you will actually face it, which is a ranking input even when the card's own stats are untouched.

Which Evolutions Got Nerfed on July 6, 2026?

One evolution was directly nerfed in the July 6, 2026 Season 85 balance update.

Impact: significant. Executioner Evolution lost 29% of its Close Quarters range (3.5 tiles to 2.5 tiles) and 10% of its Close Quarters damage (268 to 240). Close Quarters is the mechanic that gives Evo Executioner a large bonus against anything standing near him, and the range cut is the half that matters. At 3.5 tiles, Evo Executioner out-ranged the Baby Dragon class of air troops and punished them for approaching at all. At 2.5 tiles, an enemy has to be nearly on top of him before the bonus applies — which means the Executioner player now has to place him deliberately into contact rather than letting the bonus apply passively from a safe support position.

CardChangeOldNew% Change
Executioner EvoClose Quarters range3.5 tiles2.5 tiles-29%
Executioner EvoClose Quarters damage268240-10%

Values are Level 11 tournament-standard figures from Supercell's official July 6, 2026 release notes. Note that early work-in-progress coverage circulated a smaller range cut of 3.5 to 3 tiles (-14%); the shipped patch used 2.5 tiles, and that is the number that applies to your ladder games.

Impact: small. No other Evolution was changed. Goblin Drill, Royal Hogs, Tesla, and Giant Snowball — the four evolutions nerfed on May 4 — received no revert and no compensation, so the May 2026 prediction that Supercell would soften those cuts before Season 85 did not hold.

Where Does Evo Executioner Rank After the Season 85 Nerf?

Evo Executioner ranks A-tier in July 2026 — down from a widely-cited top-10 placement before the patch, but nowhere near the C-tier graveyard the May 4 nerfs created.

Impact: significant. The reason Executioner Evolution keeps an A-tier slot is the shape of the nerf. Supercell cut close-range value, not the card's core kit. Evo Executioner's axe still travels out and back through a full line of troops, still hits air and ground, and still does the job it is actually played for in control and beatdown shells: clearing support troops behind a tank. What it lost is the extra layer that made it a punishing anti-air defender at medium range. That is a meaningful ceiling reduction and no floor reduction at all, which is textbook A-tier rather than S.

Compare the magnitude honestly. The May 4 Goblin Drill nerf halved the mechanic that was the card's entire reason to exist, and it fell below C-tier. The July 6 Executioner nerf reduced one conditional bonus while leaving the base attack untouched. Those are not the same class of change.

Do not drop Executioner Evolution from a working deck over this patch. If Evo Executioner was your splash answer in a Golem or Electro Giant shell on July 5, he is still your splash answer. Adjust placement instead: put him one tile further forward than you used to, so that the enemy support troops walking into your push actually enter the 2.5-tile band.

What Are the Biggest Movers from May 2026 to July 2026?

Only one evolution moved tiers between the May and July tier lists, and two entered the list for the first time.

EvolutionMay TierJuly TierReason
ExecutionerNot rankedAEnters the list after the July 6 -29% Close Quarters range nerf
Goblin DrillD-floorD-floorNo revert of the May 4 -50% nerf
Tesla, Royal Hogs, Giant SnowballCCNo revert of their May 4 nerfs
Mega KnightNot rankedBNewly ranked here; stats unchanged on July 6
(no upward movers)No Evolution was buffed on July 6

The directional read: July was a hero patch, not an evolution patch. Four of the six nerfs in Season 85 landed on Hero cards — Hero Magic Archer, Hero Knight, Hero Balloon, and Hero Goblins. The other two were Executioner, whose Evolution is the one card this list re-ranks, and Miner. Hero Tombstone was reworked rather than nerfed, so it does not belong in the nerf count. Evolutions were nearly untouched. If you spent Wild Shards in May based on the May list, you did not waste them, and the S-tier four have now survived three consecutive balance cycles.

How Does Ronin Change Which Evolutions Are Worth Running?

Ronin changes evolution value more than the July patch did. Ronin is a 5-elixir Legendary ground troop released July 6, 2026 with 1,779 HP at Level 11 (a RoyaleAPI figure — Supercell publishes no stat table for Ronin) and a Parry that blocks one incoming ground melee attack every 3.5 seconds and reflects 2x the blocked damage back at the attacker. In a straight 1v1 he beats the big single-hit melee troops — P.E.K.K.A, Mega Knight, Prince, Mini P.E.K.K.A, Boss Bandit. He does not beat every melee troop: rapid-hitting, low-damage melee such as Lumberjack, Golden Knight, Monk and Berserker suffer far less from a Parry that only stops one hit, and Bats and Phoenix are immune to the Parry despite being melee, so they counter him unharmed and for a positive elixir trade. That has direct consequences for any Evolution whose value comes from a big single melee hit.

Impact: significant. The Parry blocks one hit per 3.5-second cycle, and it never triggers on ranged attacks, air attacks, spells, or area damage. That single rule sorts the evolution roster cleanly.

Which Evolutions Gain Value Against Ronin?

Skeletons Evolution gains the most. Ronin parries one skeleton poke and then eats every remaining body in the stack, so a swarm does not merely survive the Parry — it invalidates the ability outright. Bats Evolution gains for the same reason with the added protection of being air, which Ronin cannot target at all. Wizard Evolution gains because its damage is area and ranged, two categories the Parry ignores completely.

EvolutionDirection vs RoninWhy
SkeletonsStrongly upMulti-body swarm burns the Parry on one 1-body hit
BatsStrongly upAir — Ronin cannot target or parry them
ArchersUpRanged; chips him for free between Parries
WizardUpRanged area damage; ignores Parry entirely
KnightDownMelee dash feeds a 2x reflect
ValkyrieDownSingle melee swing per hit; her spin is still melee
BarbariansDownMelee, and their damage-per-hit is high enough to reflect hard
Mega KnightStrongly downHighest melee hit in the roster; the reflect is brutal

Note the asymmetry: the evolutions that gain are cheap and mostly A-tier or S-tier already, while the ones that lose skew toward the melee beatdown cluster. That is a second, quieter reason S-tier Skeletons Evolution keeps its slot in July.

Should You Change Your Evolution Slots Because of Ronin?

No — not on Ronin alone, not in July 2026. His four hard weaknesses (swarms, ranged troops, air units, spells) are already well mapped after three weeks live, and a single new Legendary is not worth re-spending the scarcest resource in the game. Change your placements against Ronin, not your unlocks. Full matchup breakdown in the Ronin guide.

Why Does Mega Knight Evolution Rank B-Tier Despite Being Everywhere?

Mega Knight Evolution is unusually widespread because Supercell handed it out for free rather than gating it behind Evolution Shards — the community's widely-quoted verdict at the time was that this meant "RIP midladder forever," on the reasoning that Mega Knight was already the most-played card in the trophy bands where most of the player base lives.

Impact: significant. For tier-list purposes the consequence is not that Mega Knight Evolution is strong — its stats did not change on July 6 — but that you will face it constantly, so your evolution and deck choices should assume it is present. Its Uppercut knocks enemies back roughly four tiles and creates space for a follow-up jump, punishing tightly-clustered ground defenses.

Mega Knight Evolution ranks B-tier rather than higher for two reasons. Its ceiling is capped by counters that were already good — Inferno Tower, P.E.K.K.A, and swarms placed away from the landing point — and Ronin, released the same month, hard-counters it in a straight melee exchange by reflecting the game's biggest single melee hit back at 2x. A card that is simultaneously everywhere and cleanly answered belongs in B.

Which Evolutions Are S-Tier in July 2026?

S-tier evolutions are the four that have now survived April 26, May 4, and July 6 without a single stat change.

Why Is Knight Evolution Still S-Tier?

Knight Evolution is the highest-priority S-tier evolution. It costs 3 elixir, charges in 2 cycles, gains a damage-absorbing shield and a knockback dash on every evolved play, and slots into control, cycle, and bait shells equally well. Three consecutive patches have left it alone.

Why Did Skeletons Evolution Gain Value in July 2026?

Skeletons Evolution is the cheapest evolution to charge at 1 elixir per cycle and produces the highest evolved-play count per match. It pairs with Knight for the strongest 2-evo combo at 255/255 synergy score. In July 2026 it picked up a bonus argument: as a multi-body swarm it burns Ronin's Parry on a single 1-damage-class hit and then overwhelms him.

Is Valkyrie Evolution Still a Top Control Pick?

Valkyrie Evolution is the strongest defensive pillar in control decks — AoE damage plus a mini-tank body. She pairs with Archers for 235/255 in pure-control archetypes. Her one July caveat is the Ronin matchup: her swing is melee, so she feeds the Parry.

Why Is Royal Giant Evolution Immune to Ronin's Parry?

Royal Giant Evolution is the best win-condition evolution in July 2026 and pairs with Knight for 240/255 in beatdown ground-RG variants. Because Royal Giant attacks buildings from range rather than in melee, Ronin's Parry never triggers against him — Ronin has to be paired with something else to stop an RG push.

Which Evolutions Are A-Tier in July 2026?

A-tier evolutions are reliable secondary picks that fit specific archetypes. One of the six was nerfed on July 6.

  • Archers Evolution — pairs with Cannon (215) and Valkyrie (215). Strongest A-tier ceiling, and ranged damage that ignores Ronin's Parry.
  • Executioner Evolution — down from a pre-patch top-10 reputation after the -29% Close Quarters range cut, but the base axe attack is untouched. Still the best splash-behind-tank answer in control and beatdown.
  • Cannon Evolution — best cycle-deck building. Pairs with Skeletons (215).
  • Bats Evolution — bridge-spam staple. Pairs with Royal Giant (210). Air, so Ronin cannot touch them.
  • Goblin Barrel Evolution — bait-deck core. Pairs with Knight (200).

Which Evolutions Are B-Tier in July 2026?

B-tier evolutions are usable in specific decks but are not Wild Shard priorities.

  • Royal Ghost Evolution — still recovering from the April 26 -60% Souldier damage cut. Niche control use.
  • Mega Knight Evolution — everywhere in mid-ladder after the free giveaway, and still cleanly answered by Inferno Tower, P.E.K.K.A, swarms, and now Ronin.
  • Witch Evolution — beatdown support, scales with tank pushes only.
  • Barbarians Evolution — beatdown role, decent floor, bad Ronin matchup.
  • Skeleton Barrel Evolution — bait deck filler. Loses to the modern Log + Spear Goblins meta.

Which Evolutions Are C-Tier and Below in July 2026?

C-tier evolutions are situational at best. Avoid spending Wild Shards on these:

  • Tesla Evolution — C since the May 4 -15% pulse damage cut. No revert in July.
  • Wall Breakers Evolution — C since the April 26 -26% area damage cut.
  • Royal Hogs Evolution — C since the May 4 -48% landing damage cut.
  • Furnace Evolution — niche siege role only, unchanged for three patches.
  • Giant Snowball Evolution — C since the May 4 -25% slow duration cut.
  • Wizard Evolution — slow projectile, outclassed by Archers and Executioner. Its only July upside is that ranged area damage ignores Ronin's Parry.

Is Goblin Drill Evolution Playable Yet?

Goblin Drill Evolution remains below the standard C-tier floor after the May 4 cut from 2 goblins to 1 on the second submerge (-50%). July 6 brought no revert. If you are still running Goblin Drill Evolution nearly three months after that nerf, swap it — the chip-pressure stream that justified the slot no longer exists.

What's the Best 2-Evolution Combo in July 2026?

Knight + Skeletons is the best 2-evolution combo in Clash Royale in July 2026, scoring 255/255 in the synergy calculator with a control or cycle archetype: tier score 200 + pair bonus 25 + archetype match 30. Both evolutions were untouched by all three 2026 balance patches, and the pair fits Hog 2.6, Mortar Cycle, Knight Mini-Pekka, and Royal Giant Phoenix variants.

The next-best combos:

  • Knight + Royal Giant: 240/255 — strongest beatdown core, and Royal Giant's ranged attack dodges Ronin's Parry
  • Cannon + Skeletons: 235/255 — second-best Hog Cycle setup
  • Valkyrie + Archers: 235/255 — strongest pure-control core
  • Royal Giant + Bats: 210/255 — strongest bridge spam core, and both halves are Ronin-proof

Outside these top-five pairs, score drops below 200 unless you specifically target an archetype-bonus stack.

Why Do Pair Bonuses Still Matter in July 2026?

Pair bonuses matter because the viable mid-tier pool has not recovered. The May 4 patch removed four mid-tier evolution options and July restored none of them, so the +25 named pair bonuses remain a larger share of your achievable score than they were in April. If your second evolution slot is not part of one of the named pairs, you are still leaving 25 points on the table.

How Should You Spend Wild Shards in July 2026?

Spend Wild Shards on Knight first, then Skeletons, then Valkyrie, then Royal Giant. All four were S-tier through three consecutive balance patches without a single stat change — until the August 3, 2026 patch halved Valkyrie Evolution's tornado damage (84→42). Knight, Skeletons, and Royal Giant remain untouched and slot into multiple meta archetypes — which is what makes shard investment keep paying off across deck changes.

What Is the Wild Shard Priority Order in July 2026?

  1. Knight — S-tier, fits control + cycle + bait. Universal evolution, untouched since before April 26.
  2. Skeletons — S-tier, lowest opportunity cost at 1 elixir per cycle, and the best swarm answer to Ronin.
  3. Valkyrie — S-tier. Defensive pillar in control and beatdown.
  4. Royal Giant — S-tier. Best win-condition evolution, and immune to Ronin's Parry by attack type.
  5. Archers — A-tier. High ceiling when paired with Cannon or Valkyrie; ranged damage ignores Parry.

Where Should You Not Spend Wild Shards in July 2026?

Avoid spending Wild Shards on Goblin Drill, Royal Hogs, Tesla, Giant Snowball, Wall Breakers, or Royal Ghost. Three balance cycles have passed since the first of those nerfs and none has been reverted. Do not spend Wild Shards on Mega Knight Evolution either — not because it is bad, but because it was given away free, and paying a scarce resource for something you already have is the single most avoidable mistake available this month.

Evo Executioner is the one genuine judgment call. If you already own it, keep running it — A-tier is a fine slot. If you do not own it and were saving shards for it before July 6, redirect those shards to Archers instead: same role family, no fresh nerf.

How Do Evolution Slots Work in July 2026?

Evolution slots are deck slots that allow a card to charge into an evolved version after enough cycles. Slot 1 unlocks at Arena 3, Slot 2 unlocks at Arena 10. The cycle math — 2 cycles to charge for most evolutions, 1 cycle for Skeletons — is unchanged in July 2026.

Should Both Slots Always Be Filled at Arena 10+?

Yes. Even a C-tier evolution gives more value than an empty slot, because the cycle still triggers the evo charge passively. The opportunity cost of an empty slot at Arena 10 and above is roughly 1 free evo charge per match, which compounds across a 20-match ladder push. With Mega Knight Evolution now free for everyone, there is no longer any excuse for a Level-11-plus account to sit at Arena 10 with one slot empty.

Which Evolutions Fit Each Archetype in July 2026?

Which Evolutions Fit Control Decks?

Knight, Valkyrie, Archers, Cannon, and Executioner fit control. The strongest control core is Valkyrie + Archers (235/255) or Knight + Cannon (210/255). Executioner Evolution stays in control shells after the July 6 nerf — just push his placement one tile further forward so enemy support troops enter the reduced 2.5-tile Close Quarters band.

Which Evolutions Fit Cycle Decks Like Hog 2.6 and Mortar Cycle?

Skeletons, Cannon, and Bats fit cycle. The strongest cycle core for Hog 2.6 in July 2026 is Skeletons + Cannon (235/255). Skip Wall Breakers, Tesla, and Snowball Evolutions — all three are still sitting on unreverted spring nerfs.

Which Evolutions Fit Beatdown Decks Like Golem and Electro Giant?

Valkyrie, Royal Giant, Executioner, Witch, Barbarians, and Mega Knight fit beatdown. The strongest beatdown core is Knight + Royal Giant (240/255). Note that Electro Giant and P.E.K.K.A both received small buffs on July 6 (hitpoints 3,855 to 3,952 and damage 816 to 842 respectively), which makes Executioner Evolution's splash-behind-tank job slightly more valuable even after his own nerf.

Which Evolutions Fit Bait Decks Like Log Bait?

Goblin Barrel, Knight, Archers, and Skeleton Barrel fit bait. The strongest bait core is Knight + Goblin Barrel (210/255). Goblin Drill Evolution should be out of every bait deck by now.

Which Evolutions Fit Siege Decks Like X-Bow 3.0?

Skeletons and Cannon fit siege. The strongest siege core is Skeletons + Cannon (235/255) for X-Bow defense. Furnace, Tesla, and Goblin Drill Evolutions are all C-tier or below.

Which Evolutions Fit Bridge Spam Decks?

Bats, Royal Giant, and Mega Knight fit bridge spam. The strongest bridge spam core is Royal Giant + Bats (210/255), and it is the most Ronin-resistant pair in the game because neither half attacks in ground melee. Royal Hogs Evolution is still not a bridge spam option after the May 4 -48% landing nerf.

Why Does This List Rank Fewer Than the Full Evolution Roster?

This list ranks the ladder-relevant subset, not the complete roster. Clash Royale has 43 Evolutions as of July 2026: 41 in the card catalog, plus Princess (enabled January 6, 2026) and Minion Horde (enabled June 4, 2026). Elite Barbarians became the 44th on August 3, 2026 with Season 86. The 21 ranked here are the ones that actually decide ladder games between 4000 and 9000 trophies, plus the two that changed status in July. For the full mechanical roster and how unlocking works, see the evolution cards guide.

Will the July 2026 Tier List Change Before August?

Update, July 31, 2026: this prediction was wrong. The August 2026 balance changes (live August 3) hit six Evolutions at once — Mega Knight (uppercut every other attack), Valkyrie (tornado damage −50%), Archers (Power Shot −17%), Giant Snowball (roll range −11%), Goblin Barrel (decoy damage −26%), and Goblin Cage (1→2 cycles) — plus reworks to Witch, Barbarians, Mortar, Minion Horde, and Princess Evolutions. Supercell explicitly targeted Evolutions "dominant for over a year." The original July prediction is preserved below for accountability: this list expected no balance movement before September, with only matchup drift from Ronin's rise.

The re-rank is now published: two tiers moved, Valkyrie S→A and Mega Knight B→C. See the August 2026 evolution tier list.

Note that the May 2026 edition of this list predicted a partial revert of the aggressive May 4 nerfs before Season 85. That did not happen — Goblin Drill, Royal Hogs, Tesla, and Giant Snowball all went untouched through two full balance cycles. Weight this section accordingly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Did Evo Executioner Get Nerfed in July 2026?

Yes. Evo Executioner was nerfed on July 6, 2026 in the Season 85 balance update: Close Quarters range dropped from 3.5 to 2.5 tiles (-29%) and Close Quarters damage from 268 to 240 (-10%). He was the only Evolution changed in the entire patch and remains A-tier because his base axe attack is untouched.

What Is the Best Evolution Card in Clash Royale in July 2026?

Knight Evolution is the best evolution in Clash Royale in July 2026. It has now survived three consecutive balance patches — April 26, May 4, and July 6 — without a single stat change, and it fits control, cycle, and bait archetypes equally well at 3 elixir with a 2-cycle charge.

Is Evo Executioner Still Worth Using After the Season 85 Nerf?

Yes. Evo Executioner is still worth using because the July 6 nerf cut close-range bonus value rather than his core kit — the axe still travels out and back through a full line of troops, hitting air and ground. Place him roughly one tile further forward than before so enemies actually enter the reduced 2.5-tile Close Quarters band.

Is Mega Knight Evolution Worth Wild Shards Now That It Is Free?

No. Mega Knight Evolution was given away free to all players, so spending Wild Shards on it wastes the game's scarcest progression resource on something you already own. It ranks B-tier here — extremely common in mid-ladder, but still cleanly answered by Inferno Tower, P.E.K.K.A, swarms, and the new 5-elixir Ronin.

Which Evolutions Are Best Against Ronin?

Skeletons Evolution and Bats Evolution are the best evolutions against Ronin. His Parry blocks only one ground melee attack every 3.5 seconds and never triggers on air, ranged, spell, or area damage — so a multi-body swarm burns the Parry on one small hit, and Bats cannot be targeted by him at all.

Did Goblin Drill Evolution Get Buffed Back in July 2026?

No. Goblin Drill Evolution received no revert in the July 6, 2026 patch and still spawns 1 goblin on the second submerge instead of 2 after the May 4 -50% cut. It remains below the C-tier floor nearly three months later — swap it out of any deck still running it.

Which Evolutions Are Worth Wild Shards in July 2026?

Knight, Skeletons, Valkyrie, and Royal Giant were the July 2026 answer, in that order — at the time, all four had gone unchanged through three consecutive balance patches. (August 3, 2026 update: Valkyrie and Archers dropped out of the safe-buy list when that patch cut Valkyrie Evo's tornado damage by 50% and Archers Evo's Power Shot by 17%; the untouched safe buys are now Knight, Skeletons, and Royal Giant.)

How Many Evolutions Are There in Clash Royale in July 2026?

There were 43 as of July 2026: 41 in the card catalog, plus Princess (enabled January 6, 2026) and Minion Horde (enabled June 4, 2026). Elite Barbarians became the 44th on August 3, 2026 with Season 86. This tier list ranks the 21 that meaningfully appear between 4000 and 9000 trophies.

**Methodology:** July 2026 evolution tier list rebuilt July 27, 2026, three weeks after the Season 85 balance update. Stat changes for Executioner Evolution (Close Quarters range 3.5→2.5 tiles, damage 268→240) and the surrounding patch are taken from Supercell's official July 6, 2026 release notes and cross-checked against RoyaleTracker's Season 85 coverage; an early work-in-progress figure of 3.5→3 tiles circulated in third-party coverage and was not the shipped value. Ronin's stats (5 elixir, 1,779 HP at Level 11, Parry blocking one ground melee attack per 3.5 seconds for 2× reflected damage) come from RoyaleAPI's new-card coverage and TrophyCoach's own [Ronin guide](/guides/ronin-guide). Evolution roster size (43 in July 2026, 44 from August 3) is derived from TrophyCoach's own card catalog — 41 entries carrying a maxEvolutionLevel — plus the season-enabled Evolutions in our season data, rather than from public trackers, which disagree with each other. This edition carries no win-rate column. Earlier editions in this series showed illustrative placeholder figures; no Evolution-level win-rate dataset was published for Season 85, and the per-evolution rates on public trackers (some above 95% at usage below 0.2%) are sample artifacts rather than ladder win rates, so the column was dropped instead of refreshed. The Mega Knight Evolution free giveaway and the "RIP midladder forever" community reaction are reported from Sportskeeda's community coverage; the exact distribution date was not independently confirmed and is deliberately not stated. Tier placements are editorial judgments based on archetype fit across 4000-9000+ trophy bands and shard-investment ROI, not on a measured sample.
