Is My Clash Royale Deck Good?

Deck Doctor rates a Clash Royale deck in two steps: an instant 7-point deck check of your 8 cards, then an AI grade from S down to F, with a “Why this grade” line naming every check the deck failed, and the single swap that raises the grade most. The check, the grade and your #1 swap are free with no login. A free account unlocks the full report: every swap, your weak spots, the best Champion and Tower Troop for the deck, and an early, mid and late game plan.

Most decks that get stuck on ladder fail the same checks: no win condition, no big spell, two cards fighting over the same job, or an average of 4.0 elixir or more without a heavy win condition to carry it. The checker flags these by name so you know why the deck is graded the way it is, not just the letter.

What the deck checker looks at

The deck checker runs the moment your 8 cards are in, before the AI answers. It reads the card list only, so every number it prints (average elixir, cycle cost, open slots) is worked out from the cards, never guessed:

  • Win condition: a card that takes towers on its own, like Hog Rider, Miner or Giant. Mega Knight and Skeleton King defend first, so they do not count. Three or more tower-takers get a tip: fine for bait, but most decks run one or two.
  • Air defense: at least 1 troop or building that hits air, so a Balloon or Lava Hound can't walk in. Spirits hit once and are gone, so they do not count.
  • Spells: a small spell (The Log, Zap, Arrows) for swarms and a big spell (Fireball, Poison, Lightning) for support troops and the last tower hit points. You get a warning only when nothing clears swarms (no small spell and no splash troop); a missing big spell is a tip, since plenty of bait and bridge-spam decks win without one.
  • Building or tank killer: a defensive building or a high-damage troop that stops a Golem or P.E.K.K.A. A swarm alone gets a tip; nothing at all gets a warning.
  • Average elixir: your average and its band: under 3.0 fast cycle, 3.0–3.5 control, 3.5–4.0 bridge spam, 4.0+ beatdown. A 4.0+ deck without a 5+ elixir win condition gets a tip, and so does any deck at 5.0+.
  • 4-card cycle: what your 4 cheapest cards cost together. A heavy deck with no card at 2 elixir or less gets a tip.
  • Evo & Hero slots: whether your Evolutions, Heroes and Champions fit the Evolution, Hero and Wild slots, and which cards could fill an open one.

How does the AI grade my deck?

  • Synergy: do your cards set up and protect each other, or just sit next to each other?
  • Card levels: which of your eight cards most need an upgrade for your trophy range.
  • The meta: how your archetype matches what top players at your trophies are running right now.
  • Hero & Evolution fit: whether your Hero and Evolution slots reinforce the same plan.

What should I replace in my deck?

The “Fix this first” card under your grade names the card to take out, the card to put in and why, free. Linked accounts only get swaps to cards they own, at a level close to the card they replace. Building a new deck from scratch? Start in the Deck Builder to assemble any 8 cards and see the elixir curve, then bring it here for the check, the grade and the swaps. Want a deck from the cards you already own? The collection-aware Deck Finder ranks every top meta deck by what you can build today. Newer to deck construction? Read the deck building guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my Clash Royale deck good? How do I rate it?
Add your 8 cards or paste your deck link into Deck Doctor above. You get an instant 7-point deck check (win condition, air defense, spells, building or tank killer, average elixir, 4-card cycle and Evo & Hero slots), then a letter grade from S down to F with a "Why this grade" line and the #1 swap that raises it. All of that is free and needs no login.
How does the deck checker analyze my deck?
In two steps. The deck check is worked out from your 8 cards alone, the moment they are in: whether the deck has a win condition, cards that hit air, a small and a big spell, a building or tank killer, its average elixir and 4-card cycle cost, and how it uses the Evo and Hero slots. Then the AI coach grades the deck on synergy, card levels, how it fits what is played at your trophy range, and Hero and Evolution fit, and names the swaps that fix its weak spots.
Is Deck Doctor free to use?
Yes. The deck check, the S–F grade and why it got that grade, and your #1 swap are free with no login. A free account unlocks the full report: every swap, your weak spots, the best Champion and Tower Troop for the deck, and an early, mid and late game plan.
What trophy ranges does Deck Doctor support?
Deck Doctor analyzes decks for any trophy range from Arena 1 to Ultimate Champion. The AI adjusts its advice based on your trophies — a deck that works at 5,000 trophies may need different swaps at 7,000+.
What should I replace in my deck?
Deck Doctor names the card to take out, the card to put in and why, starting with the swap that raises the grade most, which is free. Swaps are based on what top decks at your trophy range are playing right now and on how your cards work together; the coach suggests at most 2 swaps, and with a linked account only cards you own at a similar level.
What makes a good deck rating in Clash Royale?
A strong deck grades A or S here. That means a clear win condition, a defensive building or anchor, a small spell and a big spell, an average elixir that fits the plan (3.0–3.5 suits most players; 4.0 or more needs a heavy win condition like Golem or Giant), and no two cards competing for the same job. Decks that grade D or F are usually missing a spell, double up on win conditions, or run cards that are off-meta at your trophy range.
What does the Deck Doctor grade mean?
Deck Doctor gives your deck one letter grade on a six-step ladder: S (Meta-Defining), A (Excellent), B (Solid), C (Needs Work), D (Weak), and F (Rebuild). S and A decks are ladder-ready as they stand, B usually needs one of the suggested swaps, C and D need both, and F means a core role is missing — a win condition, a spell, or a defensive anchor. The "Why this grade" line under it lists every deck check the deck failed, like "No win condition" or "Nothing hits air", or says it passes every check; the checks are worked out from your 8 cards, not guessed. The grade itself is the AI coach's judgement of your exact 8 cards — synergy, card levels, how the deck fits what is played at your trophy range, and Hero and Evolution fit — not a measured win rate. The suggested swaps are what to change; rerun the analysis after a swap to see the grade move.
Is this a deck rater or a deck builder?
It rates the deck you already run and tells you exactly what to change. If you want help finding a full deck from the cards you own, use the collection-aware Deck Builder & Finder instead — then bring the result back here to rate it and fine-tune the last one or two cards.
Can Deck Doctor recommend a Tower Troop for my deck?
Yes, from your linked account. Sign in and link your Clash Royale player tag in Account Settings → Game tags, and Deck Doctor reads the Tower Troop you have equipped plus every Tower Troop you’ve unlocked, then recommends the best fit for this deck from the ones you own. There’s no manual Tower Troop picker: without a linked tag it can’t see your Tower Troop, so it tells you to keep the one you use now.
How do I mark a card as its Hero or Evolution form?
Every card tile shows a Hero and/or Evo button underneath it — tap the button to switch that card to its Hero or Evolution form, and tap it again to go back to the base card. The buttons only appear on cards that have that form in the game (16 Heroes and 44 Evolutions as of September 2026). The game gives you one Evolution slot, one Hero slot, and one Wild slot that takes either. A Champion takes the Hero slot, or the Wild slot when the Hero slot is full, so you can mark at most 2 Evolutions, at most 2 Heroes and Champions together, and 3 forms in total; a button that would break that is greyed out. The buttons are there on your auto-loaded deck too: the game never reports which Hero or Evolution you actually run, so mark them yourself and the grade, swaps, and chat treat the card as that form.
