Balanced defender
The default. Reliable in every matchup; specialized in none.
Special: Air + ground targeting, baseline DPS, no unique mechanic.
Pick when
You want a no-trade-off default that handles every threat type. Best for new players or general ladder play.
Avoid when
You're in a high-trophy meta where specialized Tower Troops can swing 2-3% win rate against specific decks.
Tank shredder
Slow but heavy. Punishes Giant, Royal Giant, Lava Hound pushes.
Special: Ground-only. High per-shot damage punishes single tanks but loses tempo against swarms.
Pick when
Your deck is light on building damage and you face tank-heavy archetypes (Giant Beatdown, Royal Giant, Mega Knight).
Avoid when
You face air-heavy decks (LavaLoon, Loon Cycle) or swarm-heavy bait decks — Cannoneer can't hit air and its slow hit speed loses to swarms.
Rapid-fire swarm killer
Fastest hit speed in the slot. Dagger stacks reward sustained pressure.
Special: Daggers stack passively when she isn't firing — bursts release the stack for huge damage against fresh threats.
Pick when
You face Goblin Barrel, Skeleton Army, Bats, Minion Horde, or other swarm pressure. The dagger-stack burst is the highest single-second damage of any tower troop.
Avoid when
You face slow tank pushes — without stacked daggers her base DPS is the lowest in the slot.
Heal-aura support
Sacrifices direct DPS for an ongoing heal that compounds beatdown value.
Special: Periodically tosses food that heals nearby friendly troops. Heal is meaningful for high-HP tanks; negligible for swarms.
Pick when
Your deck builds high-HP pushes (Golem Beatdown, P.E.K.K.A. Beatdown, Three Musketeers) that benefit from compounding heal value.
Avoid when
You play cycle, siege, or bait decks — your wincon doesn't scale with healing, so you sacrifice raw defensive damage for nothing.
