Brawl Stars New Modes and NanoPowers Guide (June 2026): Topple the Tower, Combat Cooking, Food Fight, and NanoDrops Explained

Quick answer: The June 2026 update adds 5 new modes (Topple the Tower, Daily Contests, Combat Cooking, Food Fight, Mecha Guard) and 2 seasonal power systems (NanoPowers in Season 1, Fusions in Season 2) — NanoPowers and Fusions both give per-Brawler mid-match abilities chosen at the start of each game.

The June 2026 update fundamentally changes how competitive and casual play coexist in Brawl Stars. Beyond the 2 new brawlers and balance changes already covered in our June 2026 update breakdown, the patch introduces 5 entirely new game modes and a 2-season power progression system. Understanding how NanoPowers and Fusions work matters before Season 2 (Windstock) launches — both systems alter how Brawlers perform in every mode they appear in.

What Are the 5 New Game Modes in June 2026?

The June 2026 patch adds Topple the Tower, Daily Contests, Combat Cooking, Food Fight, and Mecha Guard. Three are PvE, one is PvP, and one is a scheduling mechanic around existing modes. Each has completely distinct rules.

How Does Topple the Tower Work?

Topple the Tower is the most strategic of the 5 new modes. Players must climb a 5-floor tower, selecting 1 Brawler per floor from a curated pool of 5–12 Brawlers. The entry requirement is 8 unlocked Brawlers and at least 325 Trophies. All Brawlers are automatically maxed with Buffies included — your owned stats do not apply here.

The key rule: winning a floor locks that Brawler to that floor for the rest of the event, and losing removes the Brawler you used from your available pool. That means wrong picks early in the tower shrink your options on later, harder floors. Managing the pool is the actual challenge — choosing a strong all-rounder early can leave you without it when you need it most.

Team play is available for players on the same floor. One new tower opens each day during the event. Completing all 5 floors without a single loss grants the exclusive "Unbeatable" player title.

Draft approach for Topple the Tower:

  • Save burst-damage and mobile Brawlers (Assassins, Damage Dealers) for higher floors where enemies are more aggressive.
  • Use tanky or ranged Brawlers on floors 1–2 where the pool loss is less costly.
  • If playing in a team, coordinate Brawler selections before the run — using redundant roles weakens the remaining pool faster.

How Does Daily Contests Work?

Daily Contests are a fresh event rotation: each day, players see a new set of challenges built around a choice of 1 of 3 game modes. Players receive limited attempts. Earning a win in the chosen mode grants NanoDrops, which are the primary currency for Season 1 NanoPowers (covered below). New contests appear each day, so Daily Contests are the most reliable daily source of NanoDrops for active players.

How Does Combat Cooking Work?

Combat Cooking is a 3-player PvE co-op mode with a time limit. Teams must complete 3 orders before the clock runs out. Ingredients arrive via delivery bots protected by 3 guard bot types. Players collect ingredients and place them into cooking stations called Woks. There are 10 ingredient types: noodles, chili, mushrooms, fish, and 6 others.

The 4 available Combat Cooking maps are: Quantum Kitchen, Wok & Roll, Undercooked, and Stir Station.

Tips for Combat Cooking:

  • Split roles early: 1 player focuses on the Wok, 2 clear guard bots and gather.
  • Watch the time rather than trying to perfect every order — completing 3 orders matters more than efficiency.
  • Treat guard bot waves as a pacing mechanic, not a combat priority; lingering too long on bots delays ingredient collection.

How Does Food Fight Work?

Food Fight is a 3v3 PvP mode where both teams compete to complete identical recipes using the same ingredient spawns across a shared map. The first team to complete all orders wins. If time expires, the team with more completed recipes wins. Ties trigger overtime: the first team to finish a recipe wins the tiebreaker.

The 4 available Food Fight maps are: Woktopia, Cloud Kitchen, Mill & Chill, and Turbine Terrace.

What sets Food Fight apart from standard 3v3: both teams are racing the same resource pool, so aggressive play that disrupts enemy collection matters as much as efficient cooking. Winning fights near ingredient spawns starves the opposing team of materials. Brawlers with good area control near chokepoints — throwers, wide-spread attackers — apply more passive disruption than fast close-range picks.

How Does Mecha Guard Work?

Mecha Guard is a 3-player PvE co-op mode where teams charge a battery for Meg's Mecha while fighting off waves of enemies. Power-ups accumulate as the run progresses. When the battery reaches full charge, a fully powered Mecha joins the team for a boss fight against a randomly selected giant enemy.

The randomized boss adds replay variability — players cannot prepare a fully optimal Brawler setup in advance, so the mode rewards flexible, well-rounded selections over hyper-specialized counters.

What Are NanoPowers and How Do You Get Them?

NanoPowers are per-Brawler mid-match abilities introduced in Season 1 (NanoNoodles). They do not carry between sessions — at the start of each match, players choose 1 NanoPower from 2 options presented. The pool available to each Brawler is determined by collected NanoNoodles.

How NanoDrops and NanoNoodles work:

  1. Earn NanoDrops through Daily Wins, Mega Quests, Boss Fights, Side Quests, Daily Contests, and Creator QR codes.
  2. Each NanoDrop gives 3 picks from a set of 5 cups. Each cup contains 0–3 NanoNoodles.
  3. Total NanoNoodles per drop: 1–9.
  4. NanoNoodles unlock NanoPowers for specific Brawlers across 4 rarities: Baseline, Augmented, Cybernetic, and Quantum.

The pre-match NanoPower selection means that the same Brawler plays differently each game depending on which 2 options appear. Higher-rarity NanoPowers produce larger ability swings — investing in Cybernetic and Quantum tier unlocks is the long-term goal for players who want match-to-match consistency.

Use the Brawler Map Checker to evaluate whether your current Brawler pool is wide enough to take advantage of NanoPower variety without committing resources to Brawlers that don't fit your maps.

What Are Fusions and How Do They Differ from NanoPowers?

Fusions are the Season 2 (Windstock) equivalent of NanoPowers. They arrive via Smoothie Drops earned through Daily Wins, Mega Quests, Topple the Tower, Side Quests, and Creator QR codes. The earning loop mirrors the NanoDrop system: 3 picks from 5 cups, 0–3 Gulps per cup, 1–9 total per drop.

The key mechanical difference: in Fusion matches, 2 of a Brawler's 3 NanoPowers randomly fuse together at match start, granting both benefits simultaneously. This creates compound effects not possible in Season 1 — a Brawler with 2 complementary powers active at once can behave very differently from either power used alone.

Season 1 NanoPowers remain active during Season 2. Fusions do not replace them — they add a layer. The compound fuse mechanic makes Season 2 meta harder to predict than Season 1, since the effective Brawler state at match start depends on which 2 of 3 powers combine.

What Changed in the Map Pool?

The June 2026 update removes 3 environments entirely and adds 3 new ones.

Removed: Biodome, Giftshop, Starr Toons Studios.

Added: Katana Kingdom, Hub (Showdown), Windstock.

Maps tied to removed environments no longer appear in rotation. If you had strong Brawlers tuned for Biodome or Giftshop maps, those picks need to be re-evaluated against Katana Kingdom and Hub. The Brawler Map Checker will reflect the updated rotation.

How Do Ranked Seasons Work This Update?

Ranked Season 1 (NanoNoodles): Featured mode is Gem Grab on Rustic Arcade and Crystal Arcade. Free-rotation Brawlers: Berry, Tara, Meg.

Ranked Season 2 (Windstock): Featured mode is Brawl Ball on Spiraling Out and Beach Ball. Free-rotation Brawlers: Trunk, Willow, Kaze.

The shift from Gem Grab to Brawl Ball between seasons changes the entire draft priority. Gem Grab rewards sustained control and healing; Brawl Ball rewards burst elimination and pass timing. If your roster was built for Season 1's featured mode, verify that your best Brawlers still apply before Season 2 Ranked opens.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Topple the Tower in Brawl Stars?

Topple the Tower is a 5-floor PvE event where players pick 1 Brawler per floor from a curated pool of 5–12 Brawlers. Winning locks the chosen Brawler to that floor; losing removes them from the available pool. Completing all 5 floors without a loss grants the exclusive "Unbeatable" title.

How do NanoPowers work in Brawl Stars?

NanoPowers are per-Brawler abilities unlocked through NanoNoodles, earned via NanoDrops. At the start of each match, players choose 1 NanoPower from 2 presented options. They reset each session — the choice happens before every game, not once permanently.

What is the difference between NanoPowers and Fusions?

NanoPowers (Season 1) give 1 mid-match ability chosen before the game. Fusions (Season 2) work on top of NanoPowers: 2 of a Brawler's 3 collected NanoPowers fuse randomly at match start, granting both simultaneously. NanoPowers remain active during Season 2.

How do you get NanoDrops in Brawl Stars?

NanoDrops are earned through Daily Wins, Mega Quests, Boss Fights, Side Quests, Daily Contests, and Creator QR codes. Daily Contests are the most consistent daily source because they refresh every 24 hours.

What is Combat Cooking in Brawl Stars?

Combat Cooking is a 3-player PvE co-op mode where teams gather 10 ingredient types from delivery bots and place them into Woks to complete 3 orders before time expires. Available on 4 maps: Quantum Kitchen, Wok & Roll, Undercooked, and Stir Station.

What is Food Fight in Brawl Stars?

Food Fight is a 3v3 PvP mode where both teams race to complete identical recipes using the same ingredient spawns. The first team to finish all orders wins. If time expires, the team with more completed orders wins; ties go to overtime on the next completed recipe.

Is Topple the Tower permanent or limited?

Topple the Tower is a timed event: 1 new tower opens per day during the event window, and 1 attempt uses the selected Brawler permanently for that run (win or lose). The "Unbeatable" title is available only during the active event.

Which Brawlers are free in Ranked Season 2 (Windstock)?

The 3 free-rotation Brawlers for Ranked Season 2 are Trunk, Willow, and Kaze. The featured mode is Brawl Ball on Spiraling Out and Beach Ball.
