BSC 2027 Qualification Explained: Invitations, the BSC Invitational, Roster Rules and Key Dates

Updated 2026-10-2210 min read

Quick answer: The Brawl Stars Championship 2027 seats 8 teams in each of 4 regions (APAC, EMEA, South America and North America). The top 6 teams in each region's final 2026 BSC Leaderboard get a direct invitation, and the last 2 seats per region go to the BSC Invitational on January 16–17, 2027. Invited teams may make at most one roster change, with a December 20, 2026 deadline.

BSC 2027 Qualification Explained: Invitations, the BSC Invitational, Roster Rules and Key Dates

Supercell's October 1, 2026 post "Your Path to BSC 2027" sets out how the first 32 top-level seats of Brawl Stars Championship 2027 get filled: 8 teams in each of 4 regions (APAC, EMEA, South America, North America), with 6 direct invitations per region taken from the final 2026 BSC Leaderboard and 2 seats per region decided at the BSC Invitational on January 16–17, 2027. Invited teams must keep the core of their 2026 roster, with a maximum of one roster change, and both the invitation response and the roster submission are due on December 20, 2026. Invitations go out on November 23, 2026. EMEA is the exception in the Invitational: it runs an 8-team bracket of teams ranked 7th–14th over two days, while the other three regions run a 4-team bracket of teams ranked 7th–10th in one day. Mainland China's 2027 format has not been announced yet.

What Changed in the BSC 2027 Qualification Path?

The BSC 2027 qualification path replaces open entry to the top level with a closed, two-route seeding: direct invitations from 2026 standings, plus one invitational bracket per region. Supercell first outlined the 2027 structure on August 24, 2026 ("First Look at BSC 2027") and filled in the qualification rules on October 1, 2026. Every item below comes from those two official posts; Supercell marks the dates as subject to change.

Impact: massive. For the 2026 rosters sitting 7th or lower, the Invitational is the only scheduled door into the first split of BSC 2027 (a declined top-6 invitation passes to the next eligible team). Supercell's own FAQ confirms there are no Open Qualifiers for the first split of BSC27.

Impact: significant. The one-change roster rule turns the 2026–2027 offseason into a retention game. Teams that want their invitation cannot rebuild around new players the way an open-qualifier season allows.

Impact: small. Slot ownership follows the 2026 rules: the roster owns the slot unless it is represented by a Club Partner, in which case the organization owns it.

How Many Teams Play in BSC 2027?

BSC 2027 has 32 top-level teams outside Mainland China: 8 per region across APAC, EMEA, South America and North America. Each region plays a league format, and the results qualify teams for the year's two major events, the Brawl Cup (end of Split 1) and the Brawl Stars World Finals (end of Split 2).

The August 24 post calls the Asia-Pacific region "East Asia"; the October 1 post calls it "APAC". Both describe the same fourth region. Mainland China "remains a core Brawl Stars Championship region", and Supercell says more on its format comes later.

Inside each split, the August 24 post lays out the order: Group Stage 1 (all 8 teams in round-robin), Mid-Season Playoffs, a second Group Stage, then the Regional Playoffs. The Brawl Cup is a three-day international LAN, and its winner earns an extra World Finals spot for their region.

Who Gets a Direct Invitation to BSC 2027?

Direct invitations go to the top 6 teams in each region's final 2026 BSC Leaderboard standings. That is 24 of the 32 seats. Invitations are sent on November 23, 2026, and teams must respond by December 20, 2026.

What Happens If a Team Declines Its Invitation?

A declined BSC spot is offered to the next eligible team on the leaderboard. The team that declined is not automatically out: at Supercell's discretion it may be invited to the BSC Invitational with its new roster, provided that roster is still a Top 10/14 roster based on 2026 Player Points.

What Are the BSC 2027 Roster Rules?

The BSC 2027 roster rule is simple: an invited team must retain the core of the roster that earned its 2026 position, with a maximum of one roster change allowed ahead of the new season. The roster is due on the same date as the invitation response, December 20, 2026.

Supercell's reasoning, from its own FAQ, is roster stability. The post says it wants a Tier 1 spot to stay "connected to the players and performances that earned it", and that stability helps organizations make longer-term commitments. It also admits the approach "is new to BSC and may not suit everybody equally" and says it will keep evaluating it.

Who Owns a BSC Slot: the Players or the Organization?

Slot ownership in 2027 follows the same rules as 2026. The roster owns the slot, unless the roster is represented by a Club Partner, in which case the organization owns it. Club Partners still have to follow the same one-change roster rule to accept an invitation.

How Does the BSC Invitational Work?

The BSC Invitational decides the final 2 BSC seats in each region and runs on January 16–17, 2027. Both formats are double elimination, and there is no Grand Final: the two teams that survive the bracket both qualify.

RegionTeams invitedBracketDaysSeats won

South AmericaRanked 7th–10th4-team double elimination12
North AmericaRanked 7th–10th4-team double elimination12
EMEARanked 7th–14th8-team double elimination22

Supercell plans to make the Invitational matches available to its creator community, so fans can follow the games through creators' streams.

Why Does EMEA Get an 8-Team Invitational?

EMEA gets a larger field because multiple Top 10 EMEA teams played the Challengers Finals during Season 6, which made them ineligible for the final Monthly Finals and kept them from completing their full regular-season placement. Supercell notes that at the end of Season 5, all three of those teams were in a strong position for a Top 10 finish. Its FAQ adds that these teams were asked to choose between Season 6 and the Challengers Finals before anyone knew it would affect 2027, and that EMEA is "a highly competitive region". Widening the field to ranks 7th–14th keeps those teams in contention.

What Is the BSC 2027 Timeline?

The BSC 2027 timeline runs from invitations in November 2026 to the Invitational in January 2027. Supercell is "still finalising the exact schedule" and marks every date as subject to change.

How Do New Teams Get Into BSC 2027 Through Challengers?

Brawl Stars Challengers is the open route for teams that are not eligible for BSC, or for new teams starting in 2027. The path starts with the in-game Championship Challenge; successful teams advance to Qualifier Tournaments, which award places in Split 1 of Challengers. The best Challengers teams then reach the Challengers Finals, where they can earn promotion into Split 2 of the Brawl Stars Championship.

Challengers runs across 12 regions, and aside from the initial 2027 seeding it is the only route into top-level competition. At the Challengers Finals, the strongest Challengers teams meet top-level teams fighting to keep their place, with promotion and relegation on the line. Supercell is aiming for most Challengers Finals to be in-person events.

Unlike the top level, Challengers is not seeded by a single one-off tournament: each Challengers subregion will have multiple entry points each split. Supercell plans to share the full Challengers details shortly after the 2026 World Finals. Its FAQ also says all leaderboard points reset at the end of each split, because each split can bring new teams into the division.

If you are starting from zero, the skills that win the Championship Challenge are the same ones that win Ranked: drafting, map knowledge and counter-picks. Our Ranked mode guide and drafting guide cover the draft side, and the Brawler Map Checker shows which brawlers fit each map in the competitive map pool.

Why Did Supercell Choose a Closed Invitational for BSC 2027?

Supercell chose a closed Invitational, with no Open Qualifiers for the first split of BSC27, because it wants the top level to represent "the very best of pro level competition" and to reward the teams at the top of the 2026 leaderboard. The October 1 FAQ says the company considered several approaches and picked the one that made the move from 2026 to 2027 "as seamless as possible" while rewarding rosters that stayed together.

The trade-off is that a strong new roster formed this offseason cannot go straight to the top level. It has to come up through Challengers, where promotion into Split 2 of BSC is the earliest step up. Supercell also says it will share plans for players outside BSC and Challengers before the end of 2026.
