Clash Royale King vs. King Season 89 (November 2026): Evo Giant, Evo Mirror, Weekly Boosts & What to Play

Updated 2026-11-0212 min read

Quick answer: Clash Royale Season 89, "King vs. King", runs November 2 – December 7, 2026 with no new card and no new Hero. It adds two Evolutions: Evo Giant (Pass Royale or Wild Shards) and Evo Mirror (Shop from November 9, or Wild Shards). Giant and Mirror play at Level 16 all season. From November 9, the King of Cards event boosts a new set of 4 to 6 win conditions every week, so the best deck to play changes every Monday.

Clash Royale King vs. King Season 89 (November 2026): Evo Giant, Evo Mirror, Weekly Boosts & What to Play

King vs. King (Season 89) runs Monday, November 2 to Monday, December 7, 2026, five Monday-to-Monday weeks. It brings 2 new Evolutions (Giant and Mirror), 0 new cards, 0 balance changes, and 21 weekly boosted win conditions spread over Weeks 2 to 5. Giant (5 elixir) and Mirror play at Level 16 for all 35 days, whatever level you own them at. Every other boost lasts one week, so this season rewards switching decks every Monday.

What Is New in Clash Royale Season 89 King vs. King?

King vs. King is the November 2026 season, built around win conditions rather than a new card. Season 88 (Shocktober) added a Hero and an Evolution; Season 89 adds two Evolutions, Giant and Mirror, and the King of Cards event (November 9 – December 7), which boosts a different set of win conditions each week and pays Crown Tokens for weekly challenges. Crown Tokens are spent in the Royal Market over the same dates.

A boosted card plays at Level 16, the max level, in battle. Your copy stays at the level you own; the boost only changes what it plays at. Most of the advice below follows from that one fact.

What Does Evo Giant Do and How Do I Unlock It?

Impact: significant. Evo Giant becomes enraged once he takes enough damage. He then leaves a trail of Rage behind him, and every troop following him gets the Rage boost. Each attack grows the trail, per Supercell. Supercell has not published how much damage triggers the enrage, so do not plan around an exact number.

Evo Giant turns your support troops into the real threat. Once the tower and the defenders have hit him enough, everything walking behind him is raged. Two things follow:

  1. Put your damage directly behind him. Princes or a Musketeer walking behind an enraged Giant gain the most. Support placed in the other lane gets nothing.
  2. Let him tank first. The enrage needs damage taken. A Giant that is killed at the bridge by an Inferno Tower (5 elixir) never reaches it. Bait or spell the Inferno before you commit.

You unlock Evo Giant through Pass Royale or with Wild Shards; Supercell gave no date for either route. Season 89's Pass Royale first-milestone choices are not published yet, so check your milestone screen before you pick, and see our Pass Royale calculator.

What Does Evo Mirror Do and When Can I Get It?

Impact: significant. Evo Mirror copies the last card you played, evolved and 1 level higher. If that card has no Evolution, Evo Mirror copies it 1 level higher, the same way base Mirror always has. Mirror has no fixed cost: it costs 1 more elixir than the last card played.

Evo Mirror is in the Shop from Week 2 (November 9), or you can unlock it with Wild Shards at any time. If you plan to buy it from the Shop, keep your Wild Shards for Evo Giant or another Evolution.

Evo Mirror earns its slot when the card it copies is cheap and has an Evolution. Twelve of this season's 23 boosted cards have one, including Battle Ram, Mortar, Goblin Barrel, Royal Hogs, Wall Breakers and Goblin Drill. A Mirrored Goblin Barrel costs 4 elixir and a Mirrored Wall Breakers 3, and both come back evolved. A Mirrored Giant costs 6, a second tank you rarely need. Hog Rider, Balloon, Miner, Graveyard and X-Bow have no Evolution, so they are only copied 1 level higher.

Which Cards Are Boosted Each Week in Season 89?

Impact: massive. King of Cards boosts a new set of win conditions every Monday from November 9. Week 1 has no weekly boost, only the season-long Giant and Mirror. Each weekly card plays at Level 16 until the next Monday, and then goes back to your own level.

WeekDates (Monday to Monday)Boosted win conditions (elixir)Challenge that week
Week 1Nov 2 – Nov 9Giant (5) and Mirror onlyNone (Daily Puzzles)
Week 2Nov 9 – Nov 16Battle Ram (4), Hog Rider (4), Mortar (4), Minion Giant (4), Goblin Barrel (3)None
Week 3Nov 16 – Nov 23Balloon (5), Royal Hogs (5), Three Musketeers (9), Royal Giant (6), Ram Rider (5), Wall Breakers (2)Quick Wit Challenge
Week 4Nov 23 – Nov 30Goblin Giant (6), Skeleton Barrel (3), Golem (8), Electro Giant (7), Lava Hound (7), Elixir Golem (3)Beatdown Challenge
Week 5Nov 30 – Dec 7X-Bow (6), Miner (3), Graveyard (5), Goblin Drill (4)Siege & Chip Challenge

Giant and Mirror stay boosted in every row. The rule for every week: play a deck whose win condition is boosted that week, with Giant as your backup plan. A Level 16 win condition hits harder and lives longer than the same card at the level you own it.

What Should I Play in Week 1 (November 2–8)?

Play Giant. Week 1 is the only week where Giant and Mirror are the only boosted cards. Two Giant decks from our Giant guide suit the Rage trail:

  • Giant Double Prince: Giant, Prince, Dark Prince, Mega Minion, Electro Wizard, Bats, Zap, Fireball (3.6 average elixir). The Princes charging behind an enraged Giant are this season's clearest use of the Evolution.
  • Giant Graveyard: Giant, Graveyard, Poison, Baby Dragon, Barbarian Barrel, Mega Minion, Musketeer, Skeletons (3.5 average elixir). This list stays strong into Week 5, when Graveyard is boosted too.

What Should I Play in Week 2 (November 9–16)?

Week 2 boosts five 3- and 4-elixir win conditions, so cycle decks win this week. Hog 2.6 Cycle (Hog Rider, Ice Spirit, Ice Golem, Skeletons, Musketeer, Fireball, The Log, Cannon) gets a Level 16 Hog Rider on a 2.6-elixir deck. Mortar Cycle gets a Level 16 Mortar. Its Skeleton Barrel was reworked on October 19: the base card's death damage rose 145 → 163, but the Evolution's fell 192 → 163 (−15%). Our Mortar guide puts the Evolution on Mortar, so Skeleton Barrel plays as the base card and gets the +12%. Goblin Barrel bait gets a Level 16 Barrel whose first hit already lands faster since October 6 (0.4s → 0.3s), and Evo Mirror goes on sale the same day to copy it.

Minion Giant is boosted too, but it was nerfed twice in October (table below), so Hog Rider or Goblin Barrel is the safer pick.

What Should I Play in Week 3 (November 16–23)?

Week 3 is the widest week, with six boosts; Ram Rider, Wall Breakers and Three Musketeers were all buffed on October 6. Evo Royal Giant Cycle and Royal Hogs are ready-made lists for this week. Balloon players can run 2.9 MinerLoon: Balloon is boosted this week only, and Miner is not boosted until Week 5. Three Musketeers costs 9 elixir, the easiest of the six to punish in the opposite lane.

What Should I Play in Week 4 (November 23–30)?

Week 4 is beatdown week: Golem (8), Electro Giant (7), Lava Hound (7), Goblin Giant (6), Elixir Golem (3) and Skeleton Barrel (3), with the Beatdown Challenge in the same window. Lava Hound got damage +33% with a slower 1.5s hit speed on October 6 (about +16% damage per second), and Electro Giant has its Shocktober Evolution. Our beatdown guide covers how to build the push from the back.

What Should I Play in Week 5 (November 30 – December 7)?

Week 5 boosts siege and chip: X-Bow (6), Miner (3), Graveyard (5) and Goblin Drill (4), with the Siege & Chip Challenge in the same window. Try X-Bow 3.0, the Graveyard Poison control deck or Miner Wall Breakers. Giant Graveyard from Week 1 has two boosted cards this week.

What Are the Season 89 Events and How Should I Play Them?

Impact: significant. Season 89 has 7 dated events. Every King of Cards item runs on Crown Tokens.

King of Cards challenges line up with the boosts: the Beatdown Challenge runs in Week 4 (Golem, Electro Giant, Lava Hound boosted) and the Siege & Chip Challenge in Week 5 (X-Bow, Miner, Graveyard, Goblin Drill). Enter each with that week's boosted win condition.

The Royal Market takes Crown Tokens, which you earn in events or buy in the Shop. Its top items unlock only after you spend 3,000 Crown Tokens, so spend toward that line first.

What Should I Do First in Season 89?

  1. Unlock Evo Giant first. Giant is boosted all 35 days, so his Evolution pays off longest. Take him from Pass Royale or spend Wild Shards on him as soon as either route opens for you.
  2. Keep your Wild Shards from Mirror. Evo Mirror is in the Shop from November 9. Only spend shards on it if you will not buy it there.
  3. Do not upgrade a card just because it is boosted this week. A boosted card already plays at Level 16. Spend Gold on the cards you play outside the boost weeks; our upgrade planner helps you plan them.
  4. Practice next week's deck the week before. Build your Week 2 Hog or Mortar list on November 2 and play it in friendly battles, so you start Monday ready.
  5. Check your deck before each Monday. Paste it into Deck Doctor, which knows which cards are boosted that week.
