Quick answer: The Clash of Cards event runs August 1–31, 2026 for all players at Town Hall 3 and above, and the trading window stays open until September 2 at 08:00 UTC. You earn 2 card packs per day in battle plus 10 packs at the start, milestone rewards land at 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 distinct cards, and the Trader Shop exchanges 2 duplicates for 1 card of a chosen category — but only if you hold 3 copies, because the Trader will not take your last one.
Clash of Cards is Clash of Clans' 14th Clashiversary event, live from August 1 to August 31, 2026, open to every player from Town Hall 3, with the trading window running until September 2 at 08:00 UTC. Each card pack contains one card featuring a Clash troop; cards have rarities; duplicates are the trading currency. The reward ladder pays out at 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 distinct cards, topping out at the Manga Fury Prince Skin, and four separate complete-set rewards sit alongside it. The single most important number in the whole event is a small one: you need 3 copies of a card to trade it in the Trader Shop, because the Trader refuses to take your last copy.
How Do You Get Card Packs?
Supercell lists five sources. The battle figure is quoted verbatim below because the announcement's own phrasing is internally awkward and worth reading precisely:
"Earn 2 card packs per day in battle, and a total of 10 packs from the start of the event. That's up to 68 cards from battles alone."
Read as 10 packs at the start plus 2 per day across the remaining 29 days, that arrives at 68 — which reconciles the line exactly.
| Source | Window | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Card Hunt (battles) | August 1–31 | 2 packs per day, plus 10 packs at the start |
| Card Collecting tutorial | Any time | First card pack on first login after completing it |
| Supercell Store tasks | August 3–30 | Exclusive tasks reward free card packs; free card offers also appear |
| Trader check-in | August 4, 11, and 18 | One free card pack on each date — 3 cards for checking in |
| Awesome Medal Event | August 12–31 | Bonus card packs on the free track — no pass required |
| Social media drops | Throughout | Exclusive card drops on Supercell's channels |
In battle, packs come from destroying a specific building in a raid. Supercell's line "no decoys, no tricks, no instants at end of turn" is a Magic: The Gathering joke, not a mechanic — there is nothing to play around.

Run the free upgrade checkHow Does Card Pack Opening Work?
Opening is a dedicated three-tap sequence: tap to reveal, tap to confirm, tap to continue. The game tells you immediately whether the card is new or a duplicate.
Supercell also drops a deliberate tease — "the observant among you may notice a way to get a sneak peek of the card's rarity before you fully open it too…" — without saying what it is. No method is published, so we are not publishing one either.
How Does Trading Work in Clash of Cards?
Trading is clan-based and duplicate-only. You cannot trade away a card you hold only one copy of.
The flow: request a card from the collection screen → the request appears in clan chat → a clanmate responds with one of their duplicates. If nobody has it or nobody responds, gems can complete the trade instead. Requests have a cooldown between sends, similar to Clan Castle troop requests, and that cooldown is skippable with gems.
One important caveat, and it is explicitly temporary. Supercell's own words:
"IMPORTANT: at release, trading requires both clanmates to be online to complete a trade. We're looking to change this as soon as possible."
That is a launch limitation Supercell has said it intends to remove, so do not plan your month around it as though it were a permanent rule — check whether it still applies before assuming you need to coordinate schedules.
What Are the Trader Shop Exchange Rates?
The Trader Shop converts duplicates into targeted pulls. Every rate is published:
| You give | You get |
|---|---|
| 2 duplicates of the same card | 1 Random Card |
| 2 duplicates of the same card | 1 Random Elixir Card |
| 2 duplicates of the same card | 1 Random Dark Elixir Card |
| 2 duplicates of the same card | 1 Random Builder Base Card |
| 3 duplicates of the same card | 1 Random Super Troop Card |
The trap is the copy count, not the rate. In Supercell's words: "You need at least 3 copies of a card to utilize these trader deals because Trader won't let you trade away your last copy." So a 2-duplicate deal requires 3 total copies, and the Super Troop deal requires 4. Players who count duplicates instead of copies will keep finding the Trader greyed out.
The practical consequence: hoard your fourth copies. A card you hold three of is worth exactly one Trader deal; a card you hold four of is worth a Super Troop pull, which is the scarcest category.
Completing a trade with gems is also possible when a clanmate can't or won't supply the card, at a gem cost that varies by card.
What Are the Clash of Cards Rewards?
There are three separate reward tracks, and they stack.
Available from the start
Clash of Cards Decoration — a permanent access point to the Collection screen that stays on your village even after the event ends. This is why the September 2 deadline closes trading rather than access.
Distinct-card milestones
| Distinct cards | Reward |
|---|---|
| 10 | Book of Cards Decoration |
| 20 | 5,000 Shiny Ore |
| 30 | 500 Glowy Ore |
| 40 | 50 Starry Ore |
| 50 | 2 Builder Potions |
| 60 | Manga Fury Prince Skin (NEW) |
Complete-set rewards
| Complete a set of | Reward |
|---|---|
| All Elixir Cards | Rune of Elixir |
| All Dark Elixir Cards | Rune of Dark Elixir |
| All Builder Base Cards | Rune of Gold |
| All Super Troop Cards | Legendary Chest |
A note on set size, because it is the one number here that does not come from the announcement: Supercell's blog post never states the total card count. The top milestone is "collect 60 different Cards," and Supercell publishes the full card pool by category on its Card Pack Drop Chances support page. Community tallies of that page put the set at 60 cards across four categories, which is consistent with the top milestone being the complete collection. Treat 60 as well-supported but note that it is derived from the drop-chances page and the milestone ladder, not stated outright in the announcement.
How Should You Plan the Month?
Prioritise distinct cards over duplicates early. Every milestone from 10 to 60 keys on distinct cards. Duplicates only become valuable once you are deep enough that the Trader is your fastest path to the cards you're missing.
Switch to Trader-first around the 40-card mark. Random packs get progressively worse as your collection fills, because most pulls become duplicates. The Trader's category-targeted deals (Elixir, Dark Elixir, Builder Base) let you aim at the set you are closest to completing, which is how the complete-set rune rewards get claimed.
Bank fourth copies for Super Troop pulls. Super Troop is the only category on a 3-duplicate rate, making it the most expensive set to complete and the one worth deliberately saving for.
Do not miss August 4, 11, and 18. Three free packs for logging in and visiting the Trader is the cheapest guaranteed supply in the event.
Save a Clashiversary Cake. The Cake obstacle returns during the event, and Supercell's advice is explicit: "Make sure to save at least one!"

On September 2 at 08:00 UTC the trading window closes. Your collection stays accessible through the Clash of Cards decoration on your village, permanently. So the deadline is on acquiring and trading, not on keeping what you built.
Practically: anything you intend to trade for must be traded before that timestamp. After it, an incomplete set stays incomplete.
What Else Is Running in August 2026?
Clash of Cards sits inside the Clash-A-Rama: The Awesome Quest season. The events most likely to affect your card farming:
- Awesome Medal Event (August 12–31) — Card Tokens in Home Village battles, Quest Medals spent in the Trader Shop, plus bonus card packs on the free track. This is also when the Elephant Rider temporary troop arrives.
- Clan Games (August 22–28) — Strongman returns.
- Resource Fest (August 15–17 and August 29–31) — 4× collector production and capacity, plus a Goblin Builder.
The full calendar is in the August 2026 season guide. If you are farming battles for packs, our Army Meta tier list shows which attacks are actually three-starring right now — and carries a dated notice whenever an event window is distorting the numbers.
Frequently Asked Questions
When does the Clash of Cards event end?
The Clash of Cards event runs August 1–31, 2026, and the trading window closes September 2 at 08:00 UTC. Your collection remains accessible permanently through the Clash of Cards decoration on your village after that date.
What Town Hall do you need for Clash of Cards?
Town Hall 3 and above. Supercell describes it as "a brand-new event type for everyone TH3+," making it one of the most broadly available events in the game.
How many card packs can you get in Clash of Cards?
Supercell states 2 card packs per day in battle plus 10 packs from the start of the event, which it summarises as "up to 68 cards from battles alone." Additional packs come from the Supercell Store tasks (August 3–30), Trader check-ins on August 4, 11 and 18, and the Awesome Medal Event free track.
What are the Clash of Cards Trader rates?
2 duplicates of the same card buys 1 Random Card, or 1 random card from the Elixir, Dark Elixir or Builder Base category. 3 duplicates buys 1 random Super Troop card. Because the Trader will not take your last copy, those deals require 3 and 4 total copies respectively.
Why won't the Trader let me trade my card?
Because you only hold two copies. The Trader refuses to take your last copy, so a "2 duplicates" deal actually requires 3 copies of the card, and the Super Troop deal requires 4.
Do you need clanmates online to trade in Clash of Cards?
At release, yes — Supercell stated that "trading requires both clanmates to be online to complete a trade" and that it is "looking to change this as soon as possible." It is an explicitly temporary launch limitation, so check whether it still applies before planning around it.
What is the reward for collecting 60 cards?
60 distinct cards unlocks the Manga Fury Prince Skin, the top milestone of the event. The ladder below it pays the Book of Cards Decoration at 10, 5,000 Shiny Ore at 20, 500 Glowy Ore at 30, 50 Starry Ore at 40, and 2 Builder Potions at 50.
Can you see other players' card collections?
Yes. Tapping the Clash of Cards decoration on any other player's village opens their collection, which is the fastest way to find who in your clan holds the duplicate you need.
Does the Clash of Cards decoration disappear after the event?
No. The Clash of Cards Decoration is available from the start of the event and remains on your village permanently, keeping your collection accessible after the September 2 trading deadline.
