About the TrophyCoach Editorial Team
We’re the team behind every guide and tool on TrophyCoach. This page covers who we are, what data we use, our editorial standards, and how generative AI fits into our process — with full transparency.
Who writes our guides
The TrophyCoach Editorial Team is a small group of Ultimate Champion (9,000+ trophy) players and meta analysts. Every guide goes through human review by at least one editor with the relevant in-game experience: counter guides are reviewed by ladder players who main that matchup, hero guides by the editor who currently has the hero unlocked at Level 16, and balance-change breakdowns by an editor who has played the affected cards in tournament play.
The data we use
Our analysis pulls from four primary sources:
- Supercell official release notes — every balance change, season announcement, and event window is sourced from the public Supercell blog or in-game patch notes.
- RoyaleAPI — community-run statistics service we cross-reference for card win rates, popular deck clusters, and tournament results.
- In-house meta cluster — our own battle sampling pipeline collects matches across 4,000–14,000 trophies to derive deck win-rate baselines, archetype distributions, and matchup matrices. Sample sizes are stated in each guide’s Methodology block.
- First-hand replay analysis — editors record their own ladder games, replay-review specific interactions frame-by-frame, and document the patterns in guides.
Editorial standards
Every guide is held to the following standards, codified in our internal style guide:
- Specific over generic. Numbers, dates, and named cards beat vague claims. “Hog Rider returns in 29 seconds” is required; “Hog comes back quickly” is rejected.
- Methodology disclosed. Every guide opens with a Methodology block stating the data sources and sample size.
- Dated, then re-dated. Guides that reference a balance patch include the patch date. Dated content is flagged with a top-of-page notice and forward-linked to the current version after the next patch ships.
- Cited. External claims link to the source — Supercell, RoyaleAPI, or a named player.
How we use AI
Generative AI is part of our editorial process, used in three specific ways that align with Google’s published guidance on generative AI content:
- Research synthesis. AI helps us pull together facts from Supercell release notes, RoyaleAPI tables, and community sources into a structured draft.
- Structuring. AI helps draft the heading hierarchy and FAQ blocks that map to common queries.
- Tooling assistance. AI helps build and maintain our interactive tools (Deck Doctor, Counter Lookup, Meta Tracker).
What AI does not do: it doesn’t play the game for us, it doesn’t generate the win-rate data, and it doesn’t determine the tier-list rankings. Those come from human analysis of the data sources listed above. Every guide is human-reviewed for accuracy before publication, and we re-review the top guides quarterly.
Corrections and feedback
If you spot an error in a guide — a stat that’s off, a counter that doesn’t work, a deck that’s been nerfed since publication — let us know via the Contact page. We fix corrections within 48 hours when verified.
